Corrector was one of the first grammar correction apps on the web that supported multi language corrections. However it experienced a decline in traffic in 2021 due to competitors and the rise of AI.
The owner of Corrector wanted to increase his Google presence and experimented by writing a few articles explaining French grammar. That seemed to bring more diverse and higher quality traffic. He thought it was a good way to go but there are around 65,000 French verbs (!) and 21 tenses / moods (!!). Multiply those and you have 1.3 million pages to create (!!!!!).
Clearly that was too much work and would be impossible to make a return if hiring people to do it, even from cost effective places such as India.
StudioPret Helps
We were contacted to provide this unique service, starting with the most popular subset of French verbs and tenses. To date we have published 15,000 French conjugation articles on Corrector and counting. The site continues to climb the rankings as seen in this screenshot of their Google Search Console:
Whilst the above screenshot is pretty impressive, it becomes even more impressive when you realise that:
- Zero external link building was done for this campaign
- Minimal keyword research was done
- It was essentially “fire and forget”
To give you an example of what our system can output, this article was created using just one French word as input – “aller“.
Click here for another example output article, again using only one word “embastionner“.
Note that the articles include images which are SEO optimised. Google images are often ignored by content creators but are a FANTASTIC source of traffic! Below is an example screenshot of searching for “embastionner conjugation” in Google images. Corrector’s article image ranks first:
Also note that the articles contain internal site and external links. Our system can filter your internal link map to link to content that matches certain keywords and phrases.
No more manual linking required, and great for SEO!
Improvements
If we were running this campaign again we would do the following:
- Perform more in depth keyword research
- Split keywords with large volumes into sub niches to better target search intent
- Further trim down the verb list and attack different aspects of each verb, such as similarities to related nouns and usage etc
- Create simpler images to rank better in Google images
- Tweak the SEO plan to make internal link patterns more structured
No doubt we will do this when Corrector moves onto the next language (Spanish). Stay tuned for results!
Summary
Corrector, a grammar correction site, was looking for ways to diversify search traffic. We helped them create an article template that currently outputs around 200 articles per day, fully indexed by Google.
This has diversified the traffic and brought them more valuable customers as a result.
Average revenue per paying user in this space is very, very low but StudioPret costs are only 10% of that! In a more valuable industry such as medical or legal, imagine how much revenue and how many customers we could unlock for you…
If that sounds interesting then please get in contact.
